For the Love of a Pet
We are all called to be good stewards of the earth. This includes humane treatment of animals. A friend of mine involved in animal rescue efforts brought the following video to my attention. It is about legislation that prohibits owning specific breeds of dogs. The list is long! I remember how, when I moved from Florida to the Bronx years ago, I was afraid because I owned a ferret and they were illegal in NYC. She had a very sweet nature and was a part of the family. Fortunately no one reported me to the authorities, because I would have moved rather than give her up. This legislation can also affect people and their pets who are simply visiting or traveling through these areas.
